About Us

Our onsite staff draws on more than 15 years of professional experience and continuing education to provide the highest quality horse care possible. We work hand in hand with veterinarians and farriers, as well as nutrition experts to stay current with the latest science. Forte was founded on the belief that horses and riders do best when treated as individuals and we work daily to ensure they thrive in our program.

Lesson and training customers benefit from the same focus. Trainer, Allison Howson, is USHJA certified and a 2001 graduate of the University of Findlay equestrian studies program. She continues to further her riding and learn fresh teaching and training techniques from national and international industry professionals, including riding with U.S. Olympic chief d'equipe George Morris in a 2014 clinic. Allison's students have earned Championships at "A" and "AA" USEF shows.

If you do not have your own horse our school lessons will teach you horsemanship and help you build a solid foundation of the basics.  Lessons students also have the option to attend local shows with our show lease program. Visit our Lessons and Training page for more information.

Because Forte is a small farm, we can focus on you and your unique needs. Our program allows you to receive individual attention, specifically tailored training, and competition schedules that meet your budget and goals. By building on a foundation of solid basics our riders are able to confidently and competently advance. A flexible and adaptive teaching style helps riders of all backgrounds get the most out of lessons. Our number one goal is to have happy horses and happy people. Schedule an appointment to stop by the farm, or take a lesson.  See what Forte can do for you!
